Kerttu Luotamo is singer and violin player from Helsinki and is studying folk music at the Sibelius Academy. As a singer, she is interested in the similarities in the vocal use and singing traditions of Eastern European peoples.
She is also inspired by baroque dance tunes from the 18th century. Among other things, she explores the connections between Western art music and Nordic traditional music through violin, improvisation and dancing. Kerttu’s music offers listeners landscapes of nature and stories from old times, as well as a swing that invites them to dance.
