Opera singer and soprano Sanna Matinniemi will bring to life Karelian songs, which have been collected from people. “My Most Beautiful Karelian Songs” concert will feature the most famous Karelian songs.
Matinniemi was born in Juankoski in eastern Finland and now lives in Vienna. She is making an international career as an opera and concert soloist. Her grandmother was an evacuee from Karelia and Matinniemi wants to honor her roots and maintain Karelian song culture. Matinniemi will be accompanied by pianist Jenna Ristilä.
